straight cut as many acres as possible which always presents many
challenges. Hail, wheat stem sawfly, and lodged grain all demand
low cutting heights on our fairly level crop land. We harvest over
10 000 acres with 2 CAT Lexion combines suited up with Macdon 972
36 foot headers. We purchased the header wheels from Mount Green
Mfg for many reasons as indicated and anything we can do to reduce
operator fatigue and recover most of our production in the field
is a overall priority. Reduced down time from few to little knife
section or guard breakage was very noticable. This was a small investment
but critical to improving our efficiency, now all we need is auto-steer
in the combines."

were very satisfied with the gauge wheels we purchased for our 36
foot MacDon header. A lot of our land has low spots and uneven terrain.
The gauge wheels simply kept the header from scraping the ground
when harvesting short crops. These wheels made combining peas much

from rigid to draper headers we found the draper headers are designed
to float from side to side so touchdown is inevitable. That is why
we invested in the Mount Green Gauge wheels. These gauge wheels
allow the header to touchdown and roll without digging the end of
the header into the dirt therefore we have less trouble with bearings
and canvasses. These gauge wheels are by far the strongest ones
we've found and have become standard equipment on our headers."
